Kort beskrivelse af kildens indhold
Det Kgl. Teaters Programartikler er en teaterfaglig og teaterhistorisk database, der indeholder referencer til de artikler, som blev publiceret i Det Kongelige Teaters programmer i perioden fra ca. 1900 til og med 2008.
De lidt over 3500 artikler dækker et bredt udvalg af værker og emner, herunder drama, opera og ballet, oftest med udgangspunkt i Det Kgl. Teaters repertoire på det pågældende tidspunkt. Samtidig udgør de en unik mulighed for at undersøge, hvordan en forestilling har været opført gennem hele 1900-tallet, med forskellige tolkninger.
Der ligger mange interessante og koncentrerede redegørelser om emner, kunstnere eller værker, som både kan benyttes af studerende på alle niveauer samt almindeligt interesserede. Da teaterprogrammer traditionelt kun anskaffes af forestillingens publikum, og ofte kasseres hurtigt efter oplevelsen, er der tale om et materiale, der er vanskeligt at tilgå efterfølgende. Hensigten med denne database er at give interesserede muligheden for at finde oplysninger om det rige faglige indhold.
Teaterprogrammerne er gennem tiden indgået som pligtafleveret materiale hos Det Kgl. Bibliotek, og kan bestilles i Det Kgl. Biblioteks søgesystem til brug på Forskningslæsesalen i Den sorte Diamant, eller som digital kopi.
